Are embroidered patches still the best option for long-term use?

I’ve been comparing different patch styles recently for uniforms and apparel, especially when durability and a clean finish matter. PVC and woven patches look modern, but embroidery still seems to hold its place when it comes to texture and longevity.

What stood out to me is how well embroidery performs after repeated washing and daily wear. The raised stitching gives a premium feel, and details remain visible even after months of use. Many teams and brands still prefer custom embroidered patches because they offer a balance between professionalism and toughness that other patch types struggle to match.

Has anyone here tested embroidered patches versus woven or PVC over long-term use? I’d be interested to hear real-world experiences, especially for uniforms, workwear, or sports apparel.

Looking forward to your thoughts.
